Edgardo “Egay” O. Gomez – President/CEO

Edgardo “Egay” Gomez has a long fruitful experience in the market research industry. He has more than 30 years of hands on experience in marketing research, specifically in the area of retail studies. He has extensive skills in setting up and implementing nationwide surveys, and managing and maintaining continuing studies such as monthly audits, syndicated distribution checks, and census of outlets.

Egay started as Tabulator of Dealer Pulse, Inc. in 1979 while working his way through college. He transferred to the Field Department after 2 years and got promoted to lead a team upon graduation from college in 1983. Egay got promoted every 2 years thereafter until reaching Assistant Field Manager in 1989.

In 1992, Egay left Pulse to join his wife, Nila, in her market research sub-contracting company. Realizing the needs of existing clients then, Egay put up his own company, PMSS, to service market promotion and contractual manpower requirements of clients.

In 1994, PMSS operations were put on hold when Egay created a new company with a friend to do a national store census and serve the growing telecommunications research services. The alliance lasted 3 years and in 1997, PMSSI was incorporated to consolidate both the market research and promotions business of its founders. In 2008, PMSSI was closed to pave for the opening of the two companies Grand Marketing Promotions Plus, Inc. and Grand Marketing Research Plus, Inc., whose names are more descriptive of the services they offered.

Egay graduated from Rizal Technological University with a degree in BS Mechanical Engineering. He also took up Computer Studies at CRC now University of Asia and the Pacific in 1993. He has also Masteral Units for M. Divinity at Asia Pacific Theological Seminary.

Egay is an active member of Marketing and Opinion Research Society of the Philippines (and served as part of the Board of Directors from 2016-2019. Egay is also an active member of Association of Market Research Operations Specialists (AMOS), Inc. and currently serves as its President (2020-2021).
